What a couple of weeks it has been.
Before we begin, here's the pics from the NHC Carnival of The Dark Arts - firstly from Jolly Bearded Photography:

Ok, where was I?
The album is done, and being mastered! Fuck yeah! The artwork is also nearly finished (even though the actual cover has been around since we started recording the thing, there's other bits that still need attention).
We have handed in our track for NOW That's What Aye Call NHC Music vol.2 - the second of the New Hellfire Club released vinyl-only compilations. This track was recorded specifically for volume 2, and will NOT be available anywhere else.
Simon took part in the Ale-lympics at the New Hellfire Club BYOB Open Day last week, with predictable chaos ensuing. Here's some photos:
We've also just done a location scout for a video for one of the songs on the new album, with shooting scheduled for the 6th of June, which is exciting as fuck! There's other stuff, but you'll have to wait for that..
So.. yeah. That's a quick update of what we've been up to the last couple of weeks, and what's coming up. Keep checking back for more as I remember exactly what it was I was supposed to write in this update.
Two shows down, and it's still all go!
Last week we almost burned down the Poetry Club at SWG3 by officially having the most band members they've ever had on stage at one time with the incredible Juanita Stein, and made the New Hellfire Club shop sway on Saturday with an acoustic show.
This week, we will be mixing the second half of the new album and bringing our own special brand of sparkle and doom to Ivory Blacks on Saturday at the Carnival of the Dark Arts.
Tickets are available here, and for your £8 you get a fistful of the hottest bands and hottest sights - it'll put the glide in your stride, a dip in your hip and a cut in your strut!
The first day of mixing the new album at The Audio Lounge is done, and we have 5 of 10 tracks finished! Holy shit!!
Don't get too excited - as we're so busy this month that it's going to be another two weeks before we can get back in to mix the remaining 5. Keep checking back though, we'll be revealing the track listing at some point over the next couple of weeks so you can see which of your live favourites (and a few we haven't played live.. yet..) are on the record.
Looks like we've got a full plate next month, as we play SWG3 for the first time, in support of the awesome Juanita Stein! Juanita will be on tour with one of our heroes, Bryan Ferry in April and May, and will have her own show on the 18th in between the Glasgow and Edinburgh tour dates with us in tow!
On the 21st we have a free acoustic show at the New Hellfire Club shop, and on the 28th is the NHC Carnival of the Dark Arts at Ivory Blacks with The Swamp Born Assassins, Harbingers Drum Crew, Theremin Hero, Kim Khaos, Tom Harlow and ourselves! Debauchery is guaranteed. Get your tickets from the New Hellfire Club.
Who doesn't love a cocktail?!
Singapore Sling. Tickle Button. Bitter Presbyterian Tears. Manhattan. Even a Snakebite & Blackcurrant.
What makes a cocktail special though? Is it the different blends of alchohol? The non-alcoholic mixers? The glass?
No. It is, of course, the umbrella.
What's a cocktail without the cocktail umbrella? Nothing.
You may be asking yourself 'Why the fuck are you going on about cocktails you dick, you have an album to finish!'. Well, that's the thing. It's finished.
I know, I know - we have said that our third album is finished twenty fucking times and.. then we're still working on it. This time, though.. this time..
And it's a perfect blend of different types of alcohol and non-alcoholic mixers, sitting in the perfect glass.
But we need the umbrella..
..and that's all there is left. To put the umbrella in the drink, popped open and laid against the rim at the perfect angle.
Next week the final recording session takes place. We've agonised for far too long over the right alcoholic content. The right measures of the right drinks. The perfect, just the perfect fruit juices to blend for the mixer, and just the right glass. The ice was cracked. The rim is salted. The umbrella has been popped.
Next week, we sit it in the glass. And very, very soon.. you'll be able to take a sip.
Here's a message from Jamie at the New Hellfire Club in Glasgow after the success of the Heat the Homeless event on Saturday.
"A massive thank you to the acts and all that attended our 'Heat The Homeless' in store event on Saturday. We will be distributing all of the haul you'll see in the video below this month throughout Glasgow. Thanks again guys from all at New Hellfire Club Glasgow."
You can still donate by going into the New Hellfire Club shop in the Hidden Lane in Glasgow and dropping off anything you might have.

The Carnival of the Dark Arts they called it - a night of gimlet-eyed-and-swivel-hipped peelers, lean-mean beefcake showboys and the most evil soul-rending sounds from the hippest combos. Only the hip and only the hep need apply. If you can't countenance the scene, stay away squares! It ain't for everyone, but if you are a hip-crackin' hair-tossin' head-hopper then it might just be for you. Saturday 28th of April, at Ivory Blacks in the no-mean city of grime, slime and good times.
Get your your voucher here - hit 'em up at the New Hellfire Club in person and let 'em see how you shake and maybe.. maybe.. you'll pass muster and get to see what's really behind the Green Door..
